TEAM DEBRA Spotlight: Nick Meisinger in the Los Angeles Marathon
Joining debra of America’s endurance team, TEAM DEBRA, in the Los Angeles Marathon this March is Nick Meisinger! Nick prepares to take on the challenging 26.2 miles as a heartfelt tribute to his cousin's late child, Theo, who lived with Severe Junctional Epidermolysis Bullosa.
“Theo was born with Severe Junctional EB, and was with his family from July 14, 2023, to September 5, 2023. He and his family showed such strength and dignity as they learned about and came to terms with his condition,” Nick shares. “Theo's passing was tragic and will forever leave a hole in our hearts. During Theo's short life, my cousin Andrew and his wife Amy received guidance and help from a variety of different doctors and non-profit organizations... I wanted to carry forward his spirit and use my own recreational hobbies and my own small network to help fundraise for critical organizations like debra of America and to help support - in whatever little way I can - the incredible work that you all do. I cannot imagine what these families are going through on a day-to-day basis and am overwhelmingly grateful to you and your team for all the support that you give these people in such desperate need.”
